I picked up a hp c4180 and around the ink cartridges there’s a bit of dried ink in there
I wanted your opinion if it’s better to use warm water with a cloth or can I try using rubbing alcohol carefully with a cloth.
The ink cartridges have been taken out there old and dried out and I hope if anything is plugged up I will be able to unplug everything if it is plugged up using this cleaning method

Just to let you know my first printer was also
An hp c4180 and it lasted roughly 14 years it was a work horse .you see I had to look for another c4180 printer because I’m using a iMac os lion 10.75 and I know it’s compatible with this printer .my computer is obsolete and will not do updates anymore and I cannot upgrade to a higher operating system because all my hardware is compatible with lion 10.75
But nothing higher thanks again

If MAC Lion 10.75 version is compatible with this printer then don’t need to upgrade.

I’m going to ask if you have any advice on what to do when my hp c4180 will not pickup photo paper, I noticed the roller that’s supposed to pick up the photo paper touches the paper but cannot pick it up regular paper it picks up fine any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated thanks

I’m not sure about it but you may try cleaning the lever of the paper-picker manually. Also clean all the rollers.
I upgraded my computer to windows 10 pro and my printer is not recognized. I went to the HP side to download drivers for HP Photosmart C4100 series but I couldn’t figure it out. Can you attach the file for me to download.
I would recommend that you simply uninstall and reinstall the printer driver and upgrade the firmware with its latest version. Some printer model numbers have made some changes to their firmware to make it compatible with Windows 10 and 11 operating systems.

I have the hp 4180 printer it works fine exempt when I insert the photo paper in the proper place I get message there is no paper in tray area.so it does not pickup the photo paper it does not even recognize it.
