Steps:

In the installation steps shared below I have described the installation process for the full feature HP ENVY 7640 driver on a Windows computer. I have provided an image file for each installation step so that you can complete your driver installation process without any problems. These installation steps can be used for all the versions of the Windows operating system.

  1. Run the full feature driver file downloaded from here and wait for its setup files to unzip on your computer.
  2. Wait for the number ‘2’ and the connect icon to become ‘Blue’ in color, then click on the ‘Continue’ button.
  3. In the Software Selections screen, you have the option to select the software which you want to install on your computer during this installation process. Preferably, you should proceed with the default selections by clicking on the ‘Next’ button.
  4. In the Installation Agreements and Settings screen, accept the End User License Agreement by clicking on the ‘I have reviewed and accept the installation agreements and settings’ option, then click on the ‘Accept’ button to proceed.
  5. In the Connected Printing screen, you will have the option to enable the connected printing feature of this printer. This feature is useful when you want to connect your printer wirelessly as it allows you to print from anywhere. Since, I will be installing this printer through the USB port, I clicked on the ‘No Thanks’ button. If you want to enable this service, then click on the ‘Yes’ button.
  6. In the Printer Analytics screen, you will be asked by the HP to share your printer usage data with the HP website. If you want to share your printer usage data with the HP website, then click on the ‘Yes’ button. Otherwise, click on the ‘No Thanks’ button. The driver installation process will not be impacted by your choice.
  7. In the Application Analytics screen, HP will ask for your permission to collect your application usage data from your computer. If you are ready to share your data with the HP website, then click on the ‘Yes’ button. However, if you don’t want to share this data with the HP website, then click on the ‘No Thanks’ button. Your choice will have no impact on the outcome of the driver installation process.
  8. Wait for the installation of your chosen drivers and software on your computer.
  9. In the Connection Options screen, choose the ‘Manual Setup’ option, then click on the ‘Next’ button to proceed.
  10. You will have the option to connect your printer wirelessly, via Ethernet, via USB or connect it later. Choose according to your preference. I decided to connect this printer later and selected ‘Connect later – Do not connect to the device now. I will connect it later’ option. Finally, click on the ‘Next’ button to continue.
  11. When you see the message that the software has been installed successfully, then click on the ‘Finish’ button to close the setup program.

That’s it, installation of the HP ENVY 7640 driver package has successfully completed on your computer. You will be able to start using your HP printer after you have connected it with your computer via USB cable.

HP Envy 7640 printer uses one black and one tri-color ink cartridges. The standard sized cartridges in black (C2P04AN) color has a page yield of nearly 200 pages and of tri-color (C2P06AN) has a page yield of approx 165 pages.

The high-yield cartridges of Black (C2P05AN) color has a page yield of almost 600 pages and of Tri-color (C2P07AN) has page yield of up to 415 pages.
