Probably the most prominent feature of this inkjet printer is its ability to print super-tabloid sized pages of 13-inch by 19-inch, while most other wide format printers cannot handle sheets above 11-inch by 17-inch. These additional inches add a lot of value as you can print much bigger promotional flyers, spreadsheets, etc. Also, the 4.3-inch touchscreen display on the control panel enhances its attractiveness and makes it easier to access many of its functions.
Epson is famous for making high quality scanners and they have lived up to this reputation by providing an amazing quality scanner which has a maximum resolution of 4800 dpi. The color contrast replication of this Epson flatbed scanner is truly great.
This all-in-one supports almost all important connectivity options, such as Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Ethernet, USB and NFC (Near-Field Communication). Connecting and operating this device is also very easy by using the free Epson Apps which are included in the Epson Connect bundle along with other mobile solutions. Print Quality & Speed
The print speed of this printer is on-par with its competitors as Epson claims a print speed of 18 ppm for monochrome and 10 ppm for color prints. If you print in draft mode, then you can get up to 32 ppm for monochrome and 20 ppm for color prints. In our tests, we got nearly 15 ppm (normal mode) for monochrome, which is a bit slower than what Epson claims.
The output quality of the prints in text documents was truly impressive as the printed texts were sharp and crisp. However, the print quality while printing images was not that impressive. Epson is known for its top quality, high resolution color prints and considering those expectations the result was average quality. However, the print quality of images was still better than many other color printers in this category.
Printing business graphics like charts, spreadsheets, etc. was fast and the output quality was truly impressive. Even the artwork on business prints were nicely printed, which means this all-in-one is a really good device to print office pages. Also, the color quality was very well maintained even when we printed large 13-inch by 19-inch pages.
Running Costs
Epson offers plenty of cartridge sizes for this printer. The idea behind this strategy is to ensure that users get to choose the cartridge which is best suited for their printing needs. Despite having so many options, the overall print cost is not that low. Since Epson already provides a wide format printer with ink tank technology it’s really difficult to accept such a printer that requires regular cartridge replacements.
Even when you compare this Epson all-in-one with other cartridge based printers from HP and the Brother you will find this printer running costs considerably high. That’s primarily because both Brother and HP offer special services to its users while buying cartridges, like INKvestment by Brother and Instant Ink by HP, but Epson offers no such special service. Epson wants consumers who want to print in high volume to opt for its ink tank printers and this Epson all-in-one is for users who print in low volumes.
Comparison
When reviewing a printer, the best analysis is to review its stand-alone performance and make a fair comparison with its close competitors. The closest competitors of this wide format printer are the Brother MFC-J6935DW and the HP OfficeJet Pro 7740.
The Epson printer can print up to super-tabloid size pages, while the Brother and HP printers can print only up to tabloid sized sheets. However, the paper capacity of this Epson printer is up to 250 sheets, which is way lower than 600 sheets of the Brother printer and 500 sheets of the HP printer. Also, the monthly duty cycle of WF-7710 is a maximum of 20,000 pages, which is nearly 10,000 pages less than the HP and the Brother printers.

This Epson inkjet printer uses one black, one cyan, one magenta and one yellow ink cartridge. The Black ink cartridge is available in Standard (T2701), High Capacity (T2711) and Extra High Capacity (T2791) sizes, which can print up to 350, 1100 and 2200 pages respectively. The Standard sized Cyan (T2702), Magenta (T2703) and Yellow (T2704) cartridges can print up to 300 pages per cartridge.
